Marnix de Hoop has a wealth of professional expertise, in various key roles and in different industries, to mention a few:
- IT Director of Ahold-Allkauf; a greenfield joint-venture operation in Poland to build from scratch a sizable supermarket chain in a very short period of time
- IT Project Leader for the introduction of the Euro in Ahold
- IT Director of SHV Holdings, a privately owned conglomerate with 20 bio turnover and 70K employees;
- (Interim) CIO SHV Energy, the largest LPG distributor in the world, active in 4 continents
- CIO and Exec Board member of ERIKS, ERIKS is a specialised industrial service provider, active in Europe, Far East and US
- From 2021 an independent professional, engaged in digital transformations and interim CIO position at Centrient Pharmaceuticals;
- In 2023 Marnix joined Centrient as global CIO
Next to his regular roles, Marnix has held additional responsibilities such as:
- Member GDPR and Vendor Relations Council CIO-platform NL: The independent association of CIOs and IT directors of private and public organisations in the Netherlands

Education and Credentials
Marnix studied Business Informatics at the HES in Groningen and Social Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. Throughout his career, he has engaged in a multitude of training programs and courses to enhance his skill set and expand his knowledge base, among others Digital Transformation Programs at IMD in Lausanne and ‘Leergang CIO als Commissaris’ at CIONET.
Personal Interests
Marnix’s passion is to create excellent teams, by giving direction and trust and by motivating to look for the unusual. Always output oriented. Working in different cultures, working with different nationalities is a great reward.
He likes new challenges, learning new industries and technologies.
In his free time he enjoys running, visiting concerts and travelling. Marnix is married, has 2 children and lives in Amsterdam.
