Jan-Willem brings over 25 years of work experience in various larger FMCG enterprises, working at the crossroad of business and IT, leveraging his skills in process improvement, business analysis, and emerging technology to drive business transformation and deliver value from IT.

Professional experience

With his Master Degree in Business Econometrics he brings solid analytical and problem solving skills. He started his career as production planner and logistics manager. After he was invited as a key-user to participate in a European wide SAP project, he transformed into a (internal) SAP consultant. After a few years he got recognized for his interpersonal and management capabilities and moved into the position of SAP Service Desk manager for a large European region. Which was later expanded to a bigger region and the responsibility for the full IT scope. Continuing his career as Corporate IT manager, Digital Leader and finally Global Delivery Lead for a global S/4 implementation.

Alongside his development as IT manager grew his interest in what makes people tic. With training in NLP, coaching and organizational design, he not only strengthened his own management approach but also more and more helped others in developing theirs. Building a unique combination of both analytical, technical skills and human interest and change management capabilities.

Finally making the decision end of 2022 to start as a freelancer putting his broad experience to good use for companies, teams and individuals that need guidance, temporary help, mentoring, coaching and pragmatic and meaningful advice.

Next to his professional career he voluntarily contributes to various social activities.

 

Jan-Willem has worked for various companies:

  • Interim as IT Director at the Adhesives Business Unit of Bolton Group. Safeguarding the operational activities whilst leading several AI based Salesforce projects.
  • Interim IT Manager at Delicia. Managing the interim period in their search for a long-term IT manager. Managing the IT operations whilst fixing/levering their recent S/4 implementation.
  • Interim COO role at Harborn Digital Agency. Supporting the organization in further professionalization, ISO certification, exploring business consultancy and enterprise propositions.
  • Global Delivery Lead for project Transformation a global S/4 implementation at LambWeston.
  • Digital IT and BI Leader, driving business transformation for LambWeston/Meijer. Leveraging digital technology and leading their BI practice to become more data driven
  • Chairman of the Board of VNSG, the Dutch speaking SAP user group. Leading the board for 5 years as a volunteer.
  • Corporate IT manager (CIO) at LambWeston/Meijer. Responsible for the IT Strategy and its execution, business and IT alignment.
  • Regional IT manager at Perfetti Van Melle, director of the Regional Support Organisation responsible for IT support at North and Western Europe, Russia, USA, Mexico, Brazil and Iberia.

Jan-Willem holds a Master Degree in (Business) Econometrics at Tilburg University, successfully completed a Master Class in IT Governance, Alignment and Value Creation at Antwerp Management School and did an Executive Program at Singularity University Benelux. Next to that he developed his personal and management skills as he became an NLP Master Practitioner, NLP Coach, Master in Transactional Analysis and recently finished curriculum as External Organisation Coach at HRD Academy.

 

Personal Interests

Jan-Willem is married and has 2 children that have meanwhile found their way into independence. After a career in marathons, he still likes to run and go for longer walks and challenging hikes. He dedicates part of spare time to social activities such as Stichting Nuwenhuys a foundation for daycare for handicapped young adults and Stichting Prachtige Projecten which is active in fair (re)distribution of food and reducing food waste.

Next to that he likes to read and play the Spanish guitar.
